Angry customers of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (Ikeja Disco) also known as Ikeja Electric today, Monday, March 16, 2015 throng to the company’s head office in Alausa, Ikeja, to protest exorbitant utility bills, which they described as ‘crazy bills’, being forced on them to pay.
They said this is made worse by the absence of digital pre-paid meters that measures more accurately the amount of electricity consumed, than the estimation billings currently been used, but found to be incompatible with the power that is supply and what the electricity they consumed.
The residents asked Ikeja Electric to provide them with pre-paid meters and threatened to take laws into their hands if their demands are not met.
