Update: Details emerge on the dead Police officer in Oworonshoki boat mishap

Following the boat accident which occurred yesterday, Tuesday, October 10, 2017, along Oworonshoki waterways, details have emerged on the Police officer who died in the accident.

The spokesperson for the Zone 2 Command, SP Dolapo Badmos, who identified the deceased as Mary Adesoba, a police sergeant with the Force Number 022814, said the officer was dedicated to her job. “She was a dutiful officer and we are mourning her,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi, in a statement confirmed that a police sergeant, Mary Adesoba, was attached to the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, adding that she lost her life during the accident.

Recall that InsideMainland earlier reported the accident which occurred around 10:00am yesterday to have claimed the life of the officer with 19 other passengers rescued in the accident.

Meanwhile, the operatives of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) have used the medium to warn commercial boat operators in the state not to overload their boats to avoid accidents and to always ensure that they provide their passengers with life jackets
