There was apprehension in Ayangburen, Ikorodu community on Saturday, September 9, 2017, after a woman identified as Kafayat Ishola slumped and died by the road side in the area.
According to eye witnesses, the deceased was waiting to board a tricycle around Ikorodu Local Government at about 12:40pm, when she suddenly slumped to the ground.
By-standers and a police officer at the scene rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead, NewsbreakNG reported.
According to reports, the deceased’s sister, Sadiat Fadipe, said her late sister suffered maltreatment in the hands of the husband due to her childlessness after six years of marriage. She insinuated that the trauma must have led to her untimely death.
The source also was quoted as saying the challenges in her sister’s marriage affected everything around her, including her business.
It was revealed that the husband of the late woman had threatened to divorce her by the end of the year, if she didn’t conceive.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s body was deposited in Ikorodu General Hospital morgue by the family. It was also learnt that operatives attached to the Ipakodo Police Station have taken over the case for investigations.
