Teenager lynched for stealing in Imota – Ikorodu

A teenager, Ayuba Agboola, was reportedly lynched to death in Imota community, Ikorodu, for allegedly stealing an engine block.

According to The Nation, the incident occurred around 10pm at Ogunyombo Street, Imota, on Monday, September 2, 2017.

The teenager was reportedly beaten to a coma and died at a hospital where he was rushed to for medical care.

The deceased’s father, Musibau Agboola, who reported the incident to the police, accused Sesan Adebola, Samuel Ajejiowon, Akeem Limina, Sunday and Olanike Jenyo, of committing the act, The Nation reported.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole said the suspects had been arrested and detained.

“The scene of the crime was visited and photographs were taken. The corpse was deposited at Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing,” he said.
