14 months after, Ikeja Electric yet to avert impending disaster in Ebute – Ikorodu

More than one year after InsideMainland reported the looming disaster at Fadeke Oyenusi Street, Ebute – Ipakodo, Ikorodu, after a concerned resident shared the information on his Facebook Timeline, power distribution company, Ikeja Electric, is yet to act on the report.

If urgent action is not taken, the impending danger could generate into further loss of lives and properties.

Residents of the street located behind the Lagos State owned Ipakodo Grammar School, Ebute-Ipakodo, Ikorodu, are currently living in fear following the rickety state of an electric pole in the area.

Presently, the area is a danger zone as residents adopted the use of wooden poles as a temporary measure to support an electric pole that is falling off its foundation.

What is more shocking is that the falling pole is located directly opposite a school and is attached to a step-down transformer that powers the area.

On different occasions, residents of the axis have called on the government and relevant authorities to come to their aid in order to avert and impending disaster that threatens the existence of the community.

It is however worrisome that the concerned agencies are yet to act on the situation more than one year after.
