Mercy Aigbe-Gentry Marriage Crisis: Lagos set to prosecute husband for battery

Days after reports of the crisis rocking popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry’s marriage to her hotelier husband, Lanre Gentry surfaced on media platforms, there are indications that the hubby might be prosecuted for battery after the Lagos State Government commenced investigations into the matter.
InsideMainland gathered that Mercy Aigbe-Gentry who commenced divorce proceedings with her husband few days ago following battery and infidelity accusations has dragged her husband to the Ministry of Women Affairs for investigation and prosecution over alleged battery and assault.
A top official in the Ministry disclosed that the case had been brought to its attention stressing that due to the mandate given to the Ministry by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to crack down on domestic violence especially against women, the case would be treated as a matter of urgency, Instablog9ja is reporting.
The platform also quoted the source as saying “truly, the case is with us. It was reported her by the victim herself and because of governor’s zero tolerance for domestic violence, we are as a matter of urgency investigating the whole drama.”
“It is a good thing that it has also been brought to the public eye. We are still very much on top of thr matter and we will get it to its logical conclusion,” the source added.
Meanwhile, InsideMainland can reliably report that the actress recently undergone a CT scan to ascertain if she suffered a fractured skull during the recent alleged assault by her husband.
According to a close aide of the thespian, “the test was conducted at a private hospital to determine if at all the husband caused any form of damage to her during the assault.”
InsideMainland however learnt that the actress has moved out of her matrimonial home and is presently housed in Magodo, Lagos.
Also, a visit to her Mag Divas Boutique located at Omole Estate, Lagos, showed activities going on as usual as her attendants relate with shoppers freely who visit the place.
However, the husband, Lanre Gentry, has taken to his official Instagram page to deny the battery allegations.
According to him, the photos being circulated on social media platforms are shots taken from a movie scene titled ‘Victims’.
Lanre Gentry reiterated that he would never assault a woman adding that the takes of beating Mercy daily for 10 years are false.
