Mass protest over power supply, prepaid meters in Ikosi-Isheri

Residents of Ikosi – Isheri ,on Thursday, April 6 2017, staged a protest to demand for power supply and  provision of prepaid meters in the Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The residents stormed the PHCN office located at Ogunkoya Street, Ikosi, Ketu to make complaints about some officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria bringing  outrageous bills for months without reading meters.

The protesters disclosed that residents of some streets in the LCDA, with prepaid meters have regular power supply with low bills, while the protesters who have no prepaid meter, pay high bills without power supply.

The residents also lamented that the power distribution company allegedly collected money from a company across Ikorodu road and diverted the power supply meant for the residents to them.

The situation was however calmed by the manager of the power distribution company, promising to sort out the issues.
