Lagos LG Polls to hold July 22; See all the details here

After months of anticipation by Mainlanders and other Lagosians on when the election into elective posts across various LGs and LCDAs in the State would hold, InsideMainland can report that the highly awaited election will hold in July.

According to a recent notice from the electoral body, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), elections into the office(s) of Chairmen and Councilors in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs in Lagos will hold on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

As a result, all political parties are required to purchase Nomination Forms on behalf of their candidates at the LASIEC office located at 2, Birrel Avenue, Sabo-Yaba, Lagos.

3. Commencement of Campaign by Political Parties – Saturday, April 15, 2017

4. Conduct of primaries by Political Parties and observation by LASIEC – Monday April 17 – Friday May, 2017

5. Submission of Nomination Forms by Political Parties – Wednesday April 19 – Monday May 22, 2017

6. Display of Voter Register for the Elections at Ward Collection Centres – Saturday June 17, 2017

7. Submission of names and addresses of party agents to LASIEC – Wednesday 21 – Saturday June 24, 2017

8. Validation of candidates documents by LASIEC – Monday 19 June – Sunday July 9, 2017

9. Display of validated and Invalidated candidates by LASIEC – Wednesday, July 12, 2017

10. Publication of Notice of Polls at Ward Collation Centres (Day and Hour) – Saturday, July 1, 2017

11. End of Electioneering Campaign – Thursday July 20, 2017

12. Elections into Chairmanship and Councillorship positions in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs – Saturday, July 22, 2017

13. Run off/Re-run Election(s) if any – Saturday, July 29, 2017
