Here’s how Police plan to tackle spike in kidnappings in Epe

Following the recent spike in kidnappings and other crimes across Lagos State most especially in Epe community, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni has revealed the plans of the Police Command towards tackling insecurity, kidnappings and illicit crimes in the state.

Owoseni made this disclosure while responding to questions that bordered on security during the Akinwunmi Ambode first Quarterly Town Hall Meeting for 2017 which held at the Ajelogo Housing Scheme, Ajelogo Market Road, Akanimodo, Mile 12, yesterday, January 19, 2016.

According to Owoseni, the Police Command with the continued support of the State Government “increased the number of personnel in Ketu-Epe Police Post from two to seventy to effectively combat kidnapping and other crimes in Agbowa, Itoikin and environs.”

He added that the Police “transformed the hitherto abandoned Iyun Police Post to anti-kidnapping unit, while two gun boats were moved to Ejirin.”

The Commissioner however, urged traditional rulers and community elders to caution their subjects especially the youths on the need to be law abiding, shun all forms of criminal activities, and only be engaged in lawful means of livelihood.
