The Lagos State University, LASU, has released and also issued 16,000 results and certificates to graduates of the institution of learning between January and November 2016.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Olanrewaju Fagbohun, the reason for the delay in the issuance of the certificates was due to a backlog of results and certificates that were yet to be issued. The Vice Chancellor disclosed this during the News Agency of Nigeria Forum which held in Lagos.
Fagbohun explained further that the issue of backlog of results and certificates that the institution faced was due to logistic reasons. He, however, stressed that those were now issues of the past.
Consequently, Fagbohun added that henceforth, the certificates of graduates will now be ready “as at the point you are graduating”. However, to prevent loss or theft of results and certificates on the day of convocation, he said graduands will be given empty scrolls but they will be issued the results the following day.
In his words, “I sincerely use this opportunity to apologize for whatever harrowing experiences the development might have caused our graduates of several years. We can comfortably say that all these were in the time past as we have introduced a technology that ensures that certificates and results are issued instantly.”
